March 2010
Universities and companies present top-notch research and innovation projects
Two specific areas within Pharmintech 2010: "Meet the future - Universities and Research at Pharmintech 2010" and the "Innovation Corner", featuring top technology presentations by exhibitors
Universities and pioneering corporate research departments are under the spotlight at a highly technology-oriented exhibition, creating a combination unparalleled by Europe's pharmaceutical industry. Pharmintech, the exhibition dedicated to processing and packaging technology for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and personal care industry will go on stage in Bologna from May 12th to 14th 2010. It is a multifaceted showcase for the entire drug production cycle: the 2010 edition features an all-comprehensive product display as well as two areas strongly spearheading the future of pharmaceuticals.
The first one gives great relevance to universities.
The second one presents top-level innovations developed by pharmaceutical manufacturers.
The project "Meet the future - Universities and Research at Pharmintech 2010" developedin cooperation with Farmindustria is a key part of the third edition of Pharmintech 2010. It features academic research and leading companies in pharmaceutical innovation sharing the spotlight for the first time.
A dedicated area located in pavilion 22 will host ten universities, including the University of Bologna, Milan, Parma, Pavia, Pisa, Rome, Salento, Turin, Urbino and L'Aquila.
Universities will present research projects focusing on technological innovation aimed at drug manufacturing and management. Over the three exhibition days, the faculties of Pharmacy, Engineering and Science through their pharmaceutical application departments will have the chance to show their contribution to the industry within an exhibition unequalled in Europe, and at the same time students will learn about the job opportunities offered by the represented industries.
"Meet the future - Universities and Research at Pharmintech 2010" represents an important advance in the cooperation between universities and companies, establishing a close link between academic research and the industry. The project is promoted by Farmindustria, whose support made it possible to put into practice an idea developed by the Steering Committee, the group of experts - representatives from the pharmaceutical industry and technology manufacturing companies - assisting the organizers of Pharmintech in managing the exhibition and the events connected to it.
Pharmintech 2010 also features another outstanding news: the "Innovation Corner", reaching towards the future of manufacturing already coming to reality in the research labs of exhibiting companies.
